Joy Fellowship

Joy Fellowship is a cross-section of church members 50 years of age and over. We meet the 4th Thursday of each month. However, we do not meet in July and August.

Our meetings are varied. We attempt to hold activities that would be of
interest to all. In addition, some our activities and meetings are held at the
church and some are day trips. We attempt to balance this to make certain
that our older members (less mobile)can participate (church activities)
and the less than older can handle the day trips without too much difficulty.

In the past few years we have taken day trips to Cape May NJ for dinner
and a play; a luncheon cruise on the Potomac River; a day in NYC for
dinner and the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show; and a day in
Lancaster for dinner and the Christmas show at the American Music Theater.

Some of our "in house" activities have included a pancake breakfast and an auction of donated items to benefit the church's benevolence fund; a meeting to sing and enjoy the old hymns; a take off of the old tv show "What's My Line" where members took the role of Biblical characters with the staff attempting to guess them; and various speakers from the church to enlighten our group on their ministry.

Our ministry leaders are Jim and Delores Templeton. We also have a "team" or a planning committee who meet the 1st Thursday of each month to plan the activities for that month and to also plan long range activities.
