Preschool
Dear Parents,
We at Ogletown Baptist feel blessed to have the opportunity to minister to your child. Our purpose is to assist you in teaching your child to put their trust in God to the degree that their faith surpasses the present generation.
Our Goal
Is to minister to your child as if we were ministering to God, Himself - by praying, planning and relying on the Holy Spirit. Children are precious to the Lord, and we view preschoolers through His eyes. "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:3
Opportunities for Preschoolers and Their Families
Sunday Mornings
• Classes for all ages (birth - Kindergarten) at 9:00am and 10:30am
Wednesday Evenings
• Mission Friends (teaches children about missionaries and encourages a missions lifestyle) is offered for ages 2 - Kindergarten
Friday Mornings
- Preschool Playgroup happens every friday from 10:00am to 12:00 noon for preschoolers and their moms. Preschoolers get a chance to run around and play while moms get to fellowship together. Sign up is not required to participate.
Special Activities
• Parent's Night Out - Once a quarter, parents are invited to bring their children to church for a few hours of fun while they have an opportunity to enjoy time together as a couple. In December, we have a special Parent's Day Out while the children enjoy a Happy Birthday Jesus Party.
• Mom's Night Out (MNO) - A ministry for preschool moms (children birth to 5 years old). MNO is an opportunity for moms to get a night out to have fun, talk with other moms, and get an opportunity to be refreshed. MNO activities include dessert & discussion nights, pottery painting, movie nights, walking at local parks, dinner out at local restaurants, scrapbooking/stamping, etc.
• Resurrection Egg Hunt - On the Saturday before Easter, preschoolers and their parents are invited to have a special time of fun to celebrate the Resurrection.
• Fall Festival - On October 31, preschoolers and their parents are invited to a Fall Festival. The children are encouraged to dress in appropriate costumes, play games, and enjoy lots of candy.

How We Teach Preschoolers
We teach preschoolers about God through activity teaching. Activity teaching occurs when a person uses play to achieve a spiritual purpose. It must be planned with a specific goal in mind. Activities also require the active involvement and guidance of a teacher. Your child will learn Bible truths through activities that involve books, puzzles, homeliving, nature, music, and art.
Each session includes a group Bible story time.
The curriculum and publications we use to guide each session are developed by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. Occasionally, materials may be sent home with each child to be used by parents to aid in continued teaching at home. |
