We are grateful that God has placed us in Delaware. Situated on the I-95 corridor, we are surrounded by 500,000+ people in our county alone. We realize that our influence as a church should extend to our neighbors. Our neighbors include many local neighborhoods, the city of Newark, the University of Delaware, and even the areas surrounding Wilmington. Having been strategically placed, we believe God has a unique mission for using Ogletown to reflect His glory in this area.
With this in mind…
We recognize our individual responsibilities of Christians to tell the story of Jesus Christ and to share the hope of good news.
We serve our community as individuals, as groups, and sometimes as an entire church. Through our food pantry and our deacon benevolence fund, we also help those who are in need, especially those in our congregation.
Part of our faith in God is expressed to others is through our gatherings as a church body. Because of this, we actively seek to invite our neighbors and friends to visit Ogletown.
We are grateful to partner with our denomination, as well as many local evangelical ministries such as Urban Promise, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Young Life, and A Door of Hope. We host a Ukranian church that meets in our facilities on Sunday afternoon. We also are grateful to partner with many other area churches to share Christ's love.
The mission of UrbanPromise Wilmington is to equip children and young adults through Christ with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, personal growth and servant leadership.
The impact of UrbanPromise Wilmington is made possible by programs such as after-school support, summer camps, and sports ministry to name a few.
Ogletown partners with UrbanPromise specifically through providing our facilities that make their sports ministry possible.
Young Life is an international organization that introduces high school students to Jesus Christ through relationships built with adult leaders.
As a church, we support Young Life in our area through financial support as well as platforms for sharing about their ministry and expand the involvement of our congregation and our community.
A DOOR OF HOPE
A Door of Hope is a faith-based, non-profit organization that offers free help to women who are verifying and making decisions about their pregnancies whether planned or unplanned. No matter the concern, A Door of Hope provides high standards of care and compassion for every woman who seeks help at their centers.
Each year, Ogletown partners with A Door of Hope during the Baby Bottle Boomerang where funds are collected especially for this organization.
Through our partnerships with other missionaries, we extend Christ's message by going on mission trips.
In recent years, we have had the privilege of sending missionaries to West Africa, West Asia, and Nicaragua. We also partner in sending out a large number of missionaries through the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
A portion of our giving goes to support local and international work to spread the gospel. In addition, throughout the year we receive mission offerings to reach the nations.
In our gatherings as well as in our home, we make it a practice to pray for those who are taking the message of Christ to those who have never heard.
NT is a program of the International Mission Board (IMB) and is an 8-week summer mission opportunity for students ages 17-29 which strategically involves them in cross-cultural missions among unreached people groups. Ogletown partners with NT by sending individuals with support financially and in prayer in order to reach the unreached & hard to reach.
Ogletown answers the call as a congregation by sending teams of students, adults, and families for various purposes including ministering to the workers already sent, running programs for various international ministries, as well as serving to help meet needs of missions organizations on the front lines of mission.
We partner both financially and prayerful support and we are privileged to send and service many full-time workers living their lives on mission internationally.
