YEAR END GIVING
Make a difference locally and globally.
Make a difference locally and globally.
Throughout the years at Ogletown, we’ve seen God consistently use the generosity of our congregation in big and impactful ways. This impact is seen on a local level here at our church and through various para-church ministries we support, as well as a global level, using dollars for missions around the world through the International Mission Board
Historically, we have seen December marked with a wave of generosity from you – our church body. With that in mind, we wanted to highlight a few ways your gifts have been put to work in 2019 as well as highlight two areas we believe are worth your support, here at the end of this year.
To learn more about how we are putting your gifts to work, take a look at this message from our Associate Pastor, Evan Collier.
This year, because of the generosity of our church family, we added two staff members in a strategic areas focused on our children and student ministries. God has used the addition of Brandon Cook and Barbie Coleman to bless our church through VBS, weekly Wednesday night studies for kids and students, as well as events focused on community outreach and evangelism where we have seen the lives of students changed by the Lord.
When you give to the general fund, you support both internal ministries as well as area organizations that specialize in work that ministers in a specific way, such a Family Hope Coalition that seeks to support foster children and the families who are caring for those children–some even in our own church family.
Our church is connected with thousands of other churches in supporting the International Mission Board. Throughout December, we receive a specific offering (it has been called the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, named after a small-but-mighty lady who mobilized missions over 100 years ago). Every bit of this offering goes toward the actual living expenses of those who have been called to unreached peoples and places. Some of our own missionaries have seen direct effects of the gifts from this offering.
These are just a sample of the kind of missions, ministries, facilities, and people that your giving underwrites. Ogletown isn't funded by a few wealthy donors. We are supported through hundreds of God's people who want to be a part of what God is doing here, by His grace. That is why we are asking you to prayerfully consider making a specific year-end gift to continue God's work here into the new year.
If you believe God is calling you to support the work of international missions or to support and sustain our church's mission into 2024, would you consider giving?
